Atrial flutter with 1:1 A-V conduction.

چکیده
To date, there have been fewer than 50 cases of atrial flutter with 1:1 A-V conduction documented in the English literature.1 The purpose of this paper is to emphasize the diagnostic facets of this relatively uncommon rapid ectopic rhythm and to review the pharmacology of the various therapeutic agents used in its treatment. Two additional cases of 1:1 atrial flutter are reported, one occurring in a patient with chronic constrictive pericarditis.

Dissimilar atrial rhythms. A patient with interatrial block.
A patient with type A Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome and prolonged interatrial conduction intervals developed atrial flutter during the course of an electrophysiological study. The atrial flutter blocked along the left-to-right conduction pathways in a Wenckebach pattern. The dissimilar atrial rhythms of right atrial tachycardia and left atrial flutter evolved as the interatrial block increased...
متن کاملAtrial flutter: an uncommon pediatric manifestation of hyperthyroidism.
OBJECTIVE Atrial flutter is an uncommon arrhythmia in the pediatric population except for the immediate newborn period or following atrial repair of congenital heart disease. In children the diagnosis of atrial flutter may be difficult, attributable to rapid atrioventricular conduction and superimposition of flutter waves on QRS and T waves. Atrial flutter secondary to hyperthyroidism has been ...
متن کاملAtrial flutter with 1:1 conduction in a 70-year-old man with hyperthyroidism.
Atrial flutter (AFL) is a rapid, regular atrial tachyarrhythmia that occurs most commonly in patients with underlying structural heart disease. AFL with 1:1 atrioventricular (AV) conduction is a rare occasion. We describe a 70-year-old male patient with hyperthyroidism in whom AFL was associated with 1:1 AV conduction. This case report emphasizes that AFL with 1:1 AV conduction should be kept i...
متن کاملEffect of exercise on cycle length in atrial flutter.
OBJECTIVE To examine the effect of exercise on cycle length in atrial flutter. PATIENTS 15 patients with chronic atrial flutter. Seven patients were taking digoxin and six verapamil; two were not taking medication. METHODS All patients underwent bicycle ergometry. Flutter cycle length was measured at rest and at peak exercise. RESULTS Mean flutter cycle length increased from 245 ms to 256...
متن کاملConcealed and supernormal atrioventricular conduction.
THE FAILURE of a cardiac impulse to traverse the entire atrioventricular (AV) conducting system is called concealed conduction. Electrocardiographically, the effects of concealed conduction are reflected in the conduction and/or formation of subsequent beats.1 The concept of concealed conduction can be applied to explain (1) post-extrasystolic prolongation of the P-R interval, (2) the irregular...
